Dr. Biren Valodia is a highly experienced executive with over 32 years in the pharmaceutical, private hospitals, and funder industries. He has a comprehensive educational background and has held significant roles at leading organisations. Dr Valodia served as the Chief Marketing Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa for the past 18 years. He is a Chartered Director CD(SA) and seasoned board member who also served on several boards and the Executive Committee representing Mediclinic Southern Africa (2006 to 2024). In addition, he was the global lead for marketing and communication for Mediclinic International Ltd. (2010 to 2018).

He also served as a board and executive committee member, as well as overseeing commercial strategic initiatives, marketing and communication, and industry affairs. He also held the position of Executive Director at Mediclinic Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd from January 2008 to 2024 and Non-Executive Director at Mediclinic (Pty) Ltd from January 2006 to 2024. Additionally, Dr Valodia served a board member of the Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA) from 2009 to 2024 and as Non-Executive Chair from January 2018 to 2021.

Prior to Mediclinic, Dr Valodia served as Divisional Director: Head of Medicine and Disease Management at Medscheme. He also served as the Managing Director of Interpharm Data Systems as well as a board member of Medscheme (Pty)Ltd and Aids for AIDS (Pty)Ltd.
